　　《Preserve》是一款結合回合制策略玩法的解謎自然建設遊戲，在遊戲中玩家要通過排列植物和動物來創造自己喜歡的自然環境，來累積協調點數；作品中有大陸、熱帶草原和海洋環境三種階段，玩家能使用手上的卡片，在六邊形的拼圖上建造及擴展自然環境。

　　玩家可將幾塊相同類型的環境拼圖（如森林或花圃）放在一起，該區域就會變成一個棲息地，就能從中獲得點數並放置動物等等，還有些特殊卡片能讓現有環境進化成雪山、薰衣草田、紅杉林等等。動物的種類也很多樣，要注意的是每種動物都有適合牠的棲息地和海拔高度，找到對牠們而言最舒適的環境就能得到更多點數。

　　遊戲模式包含以獲得更多協調點數為目標的「協調模式」、在到達指定協調點數數值的過程中，策略性的使用卡片以避免卡關的「拼圖模式」，和能無限制創建土地的「創意模式」，此外遊戲還內建拍照功能，可隨時用相機記錄你辛苦的建造成果。
