Final Fantasy 14 Director, Naoki Yoshida, Expresses Interest in Launching the Game on the Forthcoming Nintendo Console

Nintendo is gearing up for an announcement regarding its new generation gaming console, expected to take place before March 2025. The news is certainly a boon to game developers globally. Naoki Yoshida, the director of Square Enix's 'Final Fantasy 14' series, took the opportunity of a recent video game media interview to share his perspective on this development.

Yoshida expressed his desire for players to experience 'Final Fantasy 14' across different devices within the same gaming universe. He mentioned that they have been in negotiations with Microsoft for the integration of the game onto the Xbox platform, which has finally come to fruition.

Regarding the porting of 'Final Fantasy 14' to the forthcoming Nintendo console, Yoshida showed a strong positive inclination. He stated: "We will continue to strive towards this goal, with hopes of achieving it someday."

However, Yoshida was honest about the numerous obstacles that still lay in the path of success, cautioning players not to expect the game to be available immediately upon the launch of the new Nintendo console.

The remarks by Yoshida demonstrate his enthusiasm in expanding 'Final Fantasy 14' to a broader range of platforms. Whether fans can anticipate the classic MMORPG on Nintendo's next-gen console remains to be seen.

'Final Fantasy 14's 7.0 patch, titled 'Legacy of Gold', has recently released a promotional video. The update is scheduled to launch on international servers on July 2, 2024.
