FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki Aims to Enhance Soulslike Game Combat Experience

Following the resounding success of the 2022 masterpiece, "Elden Ring", fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming DLC, "Golden Tree Specter". Alongside, the steadfast dedication of developer FromSoftware toward evolving game combat mechanics remains a focal point of interest among the gaming community.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, Creative Director of FromSoftware, revealed during a GameInformer interview that their quest to render game combat experience smoother and more proactive dates back to the era of "Bloodborne Curse". This vision was most explicitly manifested in "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice".

"The design philosophy was possibly most lucidly showcased in 'Sekiro'. However, I believe there is still room for improvement and refinement in our mechanics." remarked Miyazaki.

Acknowledged as one of the most challenging yet exhilarating creations of FromSoftware, the combat system in "Sekiro" demands players to perfectly time every offensive and defensive move to emerge victorious from intense battles.

The recent release, "Elden Ring", witnessed perceivable evolution in its combat system. With smoother movement and a wider range of combat options, players could immerse themselves in a thrilling battle experience across its vast world.

As for the future, Miyazaki hinted at plans to further refine and augment the combat mechanics. "I think we can go further." he stated.

"Elden Ring: Golden Tree Specter" will officially launch on June 21st.
